Access to Care Advisor Reception / Admissions - UPMC Aut Even Location: Aut Even Hospital

Overview of role: The Access to Care Team provides end-to-end administration support to the hospital and its functions.
Access to care teams manage all queries, telephone calls, and correspondence (paper and electronic) for the following areas: Front of House, Admissions, Outpatient clinics & Medical Records.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for the efficient processing of all Access to Care functions throughout the Hospital.Project a professional company image through all contact with patients, staff, and visitors to UPMC Aut Even Hospital.Reception: Deliver a patient-centered excellence experience to all our patients and stakeholders internally and externally.Manage all Contractor, visitor, and patient pathways daily, adhering to policies and procedures.Distribute and track daily key registration processes for all internal stakeholders.Manage car park inquiries in conjunction with UPMC facility and senior management team.Manage call volumes to the hospital and action all queries in an efficient and professional manner.Manage all voicemails on the weblog, delivering messages to relevant internal colleagues and calling back callers to confirm receipt of messages and actions taken.Responsible for Healthlink, ensuring all referrals are responded to and sent to our consultants internally.Manage the outpatient clinic diary schedule, liaising with Consultants for efficient distribution of all hospital consultant rooms.Admissions: Ensure the smooth running and admission of all patients attending the admissions desk daily.Work closely with the Clinical team, Consultants, Access to Care Team leader & Manager, and UPMC Aut Even Hospital General Manager.Check and confirm all patients' details in accordance with the international patient safety goal #1.Complete all Insurance & revenue collections daily.Action and communicate DNA & cancellations to all relevant departments.Action all reports daily and distribute internally and externally as required.Responsible for end-of-day cash reporting.Liaise with the Theatre scheduling and medical records team on patient bookings.Maintain flexibility in roster to ensure all patients are checked in by end of day.General: Work in other areas of the hospital as requested by line manager/deputy or nurse management.Produce satisfactory documentary evidence of all training and experience claimed.Respect the organisational values of the Hospital.Quality & Safety – Safe Culture: Actively participate in pursuit of excellence in quality and safety.Work with your line manager in planning, monitoring, analysing, and improving quality programmes.Participate in developing performance indicators with your department manager.Initiate, participate in, and evaluate audits according to JCI, Hospital policy, and Lean requirements.Health & Safety: Take reasonable care to protect your own safety, health, and welfare, and that of others.Cooperate with UPMC to ensure safety, health, and welfare at work.Attend education sessions on Fire Health & Safety annually.Information Governance: Maintain confidentiality of medical or personal affairs of patients and/or staff.
Qualifications & Experience: Previous experience in a similar role.Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills.Strong telephone manner and ability to communicate effectively with all key stakeholders.Knowledge of Microsoft packages and experience with a Hospital Administrative System is advantageous.Strong organisational skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced customer-based environment.Equal Opportunity Statement and Benefits: UPMC is an equal opportunity employer.
