We are hiring an Assistant Director of Nursing for our leading nursing home in Co.Wicklow, Ireland.
Responsibilities Make sure every employee does their utmost to support the smooth operation of the nursing home and the development of an environment that serves the residents' best interests.
Engage in conversation with the residents to make sure their medical needs are being satisfied and, if necessary, to find solutions to any issues.
Communicate with the district nurse on the medical requirements of the residents.
Notify the resident of any illness and, if required, request GP or professional visits.
Make sure residents' nutritional needs are satisfied and that meals are served in a sufficient quantity and of high quality.
When necessary, perform both personal care and general nursing duties.
By NMBI and Company requirements, provide prescribed medications and keep the required records.
Encourage and help the person in charge of the Care Plan audits.
Maintain the highest level of integrity in all interactions with residents' financial and personal matters and refrain from abusing the privileged relationship To foster a positive relationship between GPs and other health care professionals and the nursing home, oversee visits and communicate with them.
Make sure that each staff member receives a succinct and understandable handover report.
Arrange meetings with staff and clients and attend them as needed.
Requirements Hold complete registration with Ireland's Nursing and Midwifery Board.
Possess a minimum of three years' worth of post-registration experience caring for senior citizens throughout the preceding six years.
Possess a minimum of three years' worth of managerial experience in the field of health and social care.
Own a post-registration management degree in health or a similar subject, or be prepared to pursue one While not necessary, a further diploma in gerontology or a management degree is preferred.
Show-off your excellent leadership abilities.
Possess a solid grasp of the rules and guidelines given forth by HIQA in the context of nursing homes.
