  Assistant Manager (Social Care Worker Grade) Residential Services Castlebar Co. Mayo Contract 20 hours per week Reference Number 2024-243 Closing Date - December 1st, 2024 Job Brief  The Assistant Manager will be required to deliver on the vision for people they are supporting through their daily lives. This will include working with a number of people and their families.  It will involve supporting people in their respective homes and in their own local community, while also having responsibility for staff rosters and day to day operational management.    They will be required to build and develop capacity within staff teams linked to the individuals and other supports to ensure the delivery and implementation of the supports. They will develop a circle of support around the individuals.  We are looking for a highly capable people with an ability to listen, respond and have an emphatic nature.  Applicants should have excellent communication skills, good leadership skills and ability to work on own initiative. We believe that being creative, imaginative and highly motivated is key to this role. You will be required to participate in the Management of the Service as per HIQA requirements.
  Candidate Requirements Strong communication, organisational and administration skills Self-motivated and able to manage their time effectively Ability to lead a team of staff, including compiling rosters Experience working in an Autism Informed Manner Experience working in a person and family centered manner Interest in connecting someone to their community and supporting development of socially valued roles Flexibility will be required from time to time to respond to individuals needs   Other duties involved   (Duties include but are not limited to the following) Contribute to and participate in the local service planning process and the creative development and ongoing changing needs of the service.
Ensure a safe place of work, incorporating Western Care Association's Dignity at Work Policy and Health & Safety requirement.
To promote safety in all environments, in line with the Association's practices.
Use positive approaches to support people in line with Organisational practice.
    Qualification Details An appropriate 3 rd level qualification in Social Care, or equivalent (minimum level 7) -please note your qualification must be eligible for CORU registration   Other Requirements Full driver's license is essential All applicants will be subject to Irish Garda Vetting & Reference checks All applicants from Countries outside the E.U.
will be required to provide relevant work authorization to take up employment in Republic of Ireland. This must be submitted along with Application.
