About The Role Duties and Responsibilities of the Role: Prepare function rooms for meetings, conferences, and banquets, including setting up chairs, tables, staging, AV equipment, and other necessary items according to the event's specifications.
Assist with the placement and arrangement of décor, linens, and catering service stations.
Break down and clear spaces after events, ensuring all equipment is cleaned, stored properly, and the venue is ready for the next event.
Respond promptly to any requests for additional items (e.g., chairs, AV equipment, supplies) during an event.
Keep storage areas for conference and banquet supplies organized and maintain inventory levels.
Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests attending events, ensuring their needs are met promptly.
Collaborate with the catering and front-of-house teams to deliver an exceptional event experience.
Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper handling of equipment, setting up fire exits, and ensuring pathways are clear.
Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
Requirements for the role: Previous experience as a porter or in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury hotel setting, is desirable.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with guests professionally and courteously.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.
High standards of cleanliness, organization, attention to detail and event space presentation.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly.
Be flexible with shift patterns, including working early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
