Applications are invited from candidates to fill Senior Instructors / Community Facilitators posts in our Day Services DAY SERVICE SENIOR COMMUNITY FACILITATORS - Ref: 35/2024 Permanent Full-Time / Permanent part-time / Evenings and some weekends Day Services, Cork City, suburbs, Upton (Innishannon), Co. Cork A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Senior Instructor appointments within the Cork City & Day Services will be made over the next 12 months.
The Role The persons appointed shall in conjunction with their manager lead a day service team to empower the persons we support to develop skills, participate in programmes such as art music, baking, literacy etc.
and engage in their local communities in line with new directions.
As Day Service Senior Community Facilitator you will work as a member of a team to develop systems of work and learning programmes in line with national guidelines.
You will be responsible for planning, preparing and delivering these programmes to a range of people, ensuring their suitability for the individual needs and abilities of people supported by the services.
You will encourage, monitor and record the progress of individuals, and devise and adapt resources to suit the individuals.
The Candidates Must have a relevant and appropriate 3rd level qu alification Level 7 or higher on the Quality & Qualifications Ireland (QQI) framework in a community development, health or education.
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience of working with people with an intellectual disability/autism and complex needs.
Must have experience of programme development, implementation and review, specifically for people with an intellectual disability/autism and complex needs Practical experience of how to make social inclusion and community integration a reality for people with intellectual disabilities/autism is highly desirable Practical experience of using various methods of person centred planning is highly desirable Must have experience of working within a multi-disciplinary context Must be computer literate including proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge and proficiency of using information systems Must have a full driving licence which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads as driving services vehicles is a requirement for the role.
Must be available to work afternoons/evenings and some weekends as required Salary Scale: €38,238 - €52,055 per annum including 2 LSIs (1/1/24 LRA) and pro-rata for part-time roles * Successful candidates are required to submit all documentary evidence outlining any relevant experience within 3 months of starting date.
Failure to do so will mean that any incremental credit due now will only be paid from date of submission of documents.
