Position Overview
The company is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join its growing team. This role will report to the Director of Design and provide an excellent opportunity to work with an innovative team dedicated to building data centers designed for sustainability, safety, and high performance.
Responsibilities Serve as the primary liaison between clients and the design team.Manage structured delivery of design in line with the project execution plan, covering programme, budget, and quality targets.Promote and integrate safety protocols throughout the design process.Define, document, and incorporate customer requirements into the design.Develop and manage a comprehensive design programme, tracking milestones and deliverables.Lead design change management and value engineering efforts.Ensure high standards of quality, compliance, and adherence to design codes.Review and approve design deliverables to meet project objectives.Engage and coordinate with project stakeholders, including design teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.Collaborate with environmental, commercial, procurement, construction, and operational teams.Provide technical design guidance, troubleshoot issues, and offer solutions.Identify, mitigate, and manage design-related risks proactively.Communicate effectively and maintain regular reporting on design progress.Ensure compliance with BIM (Building Information Modelling) standards according to the BIM Execution Plan.Keep thorough documentation of all design actions, requests for information, assumptions, decisions, and changes.Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes 5-8 years of experience leading cross-discipline design teams.Experience in delivering design on large, complex projects is highly valued; data center design experience is preferred.Commitment to safety and health throughout project delivery stages.Degree in Engineering, Design Management, Construction, or a related field (BSc or MSc).Ability to identify and manage design interdependencies in scope, time, cost, and quality.Strong written and verbal communication skills.A collaborative team player with a flexible, positive approach.Independent, deadline-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving.This position offers a dynamic career opportunity to contribute to a high-growth company that's making a substantial impact on the data center industry through innovative and sustainable design.
