Driver RECYCLING Open to Public Competition Our Recycling Business Unit currently has a need for a Driver on a permanent basis.
The role will be based in Silliot Hill and will report to the Depot Manager.
The chosen candidate will be tasked with performing commercial and domestic wheelie bin collections in the Kildare, Carlow, and Wicklow service areas.
Role Specifics: Job Title: Driver Business Unit: Recycling Reporting to: Depot Manager Location: BNM Recycling Silliot Hill Duration: Permanent Apply on or before: 9th November 2024 HR Contact: Robyn Lynch Eligibility: Public Competition The Role: The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following: Increase service quality and market share in the serviced areas.
Collect various waste streams/bins from customer locations across the route network.
Applicants must possess all relevant cards, CPC, and licenses.
Supervise operatives (helpers) while on route, ensuring work is completed safely and professionally, using good work practices and manual handling techniques, and returning bins to a safe position/location in line with BNM guidelines.
Complete paperwork and vehicle safety checks daily.
Comply with all company policies and initiatives to ensure the safe and efficient operation of company vehicles.
Show courtesy to all customers, members of the public, and work colleagues at all times.
Report any difficulties encountered with others to the line manager.
Fully cooperate with all provisions taken by the company to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of co-workers and members of the public.
Maintain all allocated company vehicles and property in a safe, clean, and roadworthy condition to ensure maximum safety for drivers, occupants, and other road users, and to reduce the potential environmental impact of company vehicles.
The Person: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualification, skills, knowledge, and attributes.
Experience in Transport/Waste Industry desirable Minimum 1-2 years similar experience Must have a C licence plus a Digital Driving Card and CPC card(all up to date).
Strong understanding and adherence to legislative, company and health & Safety processes/policies whilst driving/in the workplace.
Manual Handling & Safe Pass an advantage Good Written and Verbal English essential.
Must be flexible to work across different work sections within the business.
Eligibility to work in Ireland.
A can do work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills.
