Based in Killygordon, Donegal, the company was founded in 1998 and employs around 100 people in Ireland and UK and its lead investor is BiaVest.
Role Responsibilities Leading the Site Operations Team to achieve performance KPIs and strategic and tactical business objectives.
Develop and implement an accurate cost per unit production model, underpinned by metrics and KPI's.
Further develop a Total Quality Management system to achieve world-class production (in conjunction with the Technical and Manufacturing Manager).
Develop Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems to provide a safe and healthy work environment.
Develop Human Resource management to realize the full potential of the entire Operations teams.
In conjunction with the Manufacturing Manager deploy and integrate metrics & key performance indicators and departmental budgets.
Develop annual Profit Improvement Plans, collectively owned by the functional leads in the Operations Team.
Leading, managing and coaching the on-site team to ensure that they are properly recruited, appraised, trained, developed and communicated with, so that they are fully competent in their roles and able to contribute to the Self-Perpetuating Model aspiration for the site.
Perform frequent assessments of what is non-performing (processes in particular) and support the management of corrective actions.
Minimum Requirements The individual required needs to have a proven track record in General Management where strategic growth and profitability in a food processing related environment was exercised.
The preferred candidate will also have a proven track record in building organisational capability and competency.
Qualifications University degree in engineering or business management background - minimum.
Post Graduate Masters in Management or equivalent.
Qualified in advanced manufacturing theories (Lean/TQM/6sigma/TPM/DDMRP).
5+ years' experience in food manufacturing operations as a General Manager.
Experience of retail supply chain management with promotional, short-life products.
Knowledge and understanding of customs, excise and regulatory requirements relating to the supply of goods (ROI, UK).
Track record on developing and implementing a culture of ownership, sustainability and continuous improvement.
Demonstrable ability to develop, maintain and improve on unit cost models per product.
Competent in management by metrics and a good awareness of using BI/AI as auxiliary support for data analytics and digitally enabled assessments.
Good presentation skills are essential.
Demonstrable understanding of the importance of Food Safety, quality and its implications with regard to business performance and continuity.
