Teamworx are recruiting a Head Chef for an amazing landmark gastro bar & Restaurant in the heart of Galway City.

ATTRACTIVE SALARY ON OFFER - FULL TIME PERM CONTRACT The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our kitchen.

Main duties and responsibilities Manage the supervision and control of all food and beverages from the kitchen, ensuring high quality food while taking control of GP% and costings.
Ensure that the service of all meals meets the standard of the Group Executive Chef.
Obtain supplies and purchases from company-appointed suppliers.
Control raw materials and portions to the highest standards.
Prepare food using fresh, local, and Irish produce while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
Ensure food preparation, production, and presentation comply with high group standards.
Complete and maintain all legislative paperwork as required by law.
Maintain company standards of hygiene and safety, taking necessary actions.
Develop and update cleaning schedules as necessary.
Ensure security of the kitchen, stores, and finances.
Keep all areas under the Chef's control clean and tidy, ensuring equipment is switched off at the end of each shift.
Handle administrative procedures in conjunction with the General Manager and Executive Head Chef.
Conduct regular security checks.
Receive and record all deliveries as per company requirements.
Induct all new staff into kitchen procedures.
Maintain tight stock control on all produce through bookwork, wastage, and weekly stock takes.
Deliver weekly menu planning and engineering set in a monthly cycle.
Understand and practice Health and Safety in the kitchen.
Multi-task in a high-energy production kitchen.
Understand and follow all COSHH policies and procedures at all times.
Exhibit excellent organisational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and workloads.
Demonstrate relationship management skills to work with people at all levels and across diverse nationalities.
Champion, support, and deliver business initiatives.
Work unsupervised and take responsibility.
Remain calm under pressure.
Demonstrate initiative and offer new ideas.
Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work required.
Pay attention to detail and presentation.
Exhibit highly developed influencing and relationship management skills.

Qualifications and Experience Previous experience as a Head Chef in a working kitchen.
Knowledge of Kitchen Health & Safety Procedures and all legislative requirements.
Experience in stock control.
Expertise in high-quality food production.
Recognised professional culinary qualification.
Knowledge of audit requirements.
Strong organisational skills.
Excellent people management and communication skills.
Self-motivated and able to motivate others.
