Job Title: Head of Communications and Engagement Location: Dublin, Ireland Type: Permanent, Full-Time Overview: A leading organisation in the legal sector is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Communications and Engagement to lead and enhance its communications strategy.
The successful candidate will oversee the development and implementation of comprehensive communications strategies, ensuring effective engagement with a broad range of stakeholders, including members, the public, and key industry players.

Key Responsibilities: Develop, refine, and deliver the communications strategy to support the organisation's strategic goals.
Oversee the management of external, internal, and member communications, ensuring alignment with the organisation's objectives.
Review and enhance the organisation's branding and corporate identity.
Lead the development and management of the organisation's website to ensure it provides user-friendly, relevant content for key stakeholders.
Manage and develop the communications and engagement team, fostering a high- performance culture.
Establish cross-departmental working arrangements that support the delivery of communications initiatives.
Develop and implement a stakeholder management framework, ensuring effective engagement with members and other key audiences.
Oversee the press office and social media accounts, ensuring consistent messaging and proactive media engagement.
Provide strategic communications advice to senior leaders, including the President and Director General.
Coordinate the organisation's response to significant issues or crises, ensuring effective communication during high-stress situations.
Undertake other communications-related duties as required.
Knowledge & Skills: At least 7 years' experience in communications roles, including a minimum of 2 years in a senior position.
Experience in public affairs, journalism, regulatory communication, or similar fields is essential.
Strong understanding of the Irish legal system, political landscape, and media environment, with the ability to navigate complex statutory, regulatory, and policy frameworks.
Demonstrated ability in managing a communications team and working closely with senior leadership within an organisation.
Proven experience in press relations, and ideally in engaging with members of the Oireachtas.
Experience in contributing to broader organisational strategies, leveraging communications expertise to support strategic decision-making.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
A strong digital media presence and experience leveraging digital platforms to engage audiences effectively.
Desirable (Non-Essential) Skills: Extensive experience in senior communications roles within the legal or regulatory sectors.
A relevant academic background in communications, public affairs, or a related field.
