About the Head of Strategy and Enablement Compliance role Goodbody Compliance is now seeking applications from ambitious and enthusiastic professionals who are keen to join the Compliance Senior Management team to lead the effective and efficient operations of the function and provide support to further evolve the Compliance function's strategy.
Head of Strategy and Enablement Compliance Accountabilities include: Leads the creation, planning and supervision of the delivery of the function's strategic agenda.
Maintains and manages the delivery of the Compliance framework and policy architecture.
Drives delivery of team's work on time, within agreed budget, in accordance with agreed quality standards.
Reviews the work of the compliance team through the centralised reporting to key governance.
Promptly delivers accessible, relevant reports which clearly highlight where action is required.
Uses influencing and communication skills to confirm that points raised are clear and concise.
Maintains highly effective and influential relationships at SMT level and below.
Presents formal Compliance updates at the relevant SMT meetings.
Represents Compliance at various forums/committees in an advisory capacity.
Monitors continuous improvement of Compliance methodologies and practices through the adherence to documented procedures and standards (best practices).
Attracts, develops and retains a high performing and technically skilled team which is a source of talent for the firm.
Keep up to date on regulatory trends and communications.
Promote a strong compliance culture across the firm.
Qualifications and Experience Proven experience in risk.
Examples can include (but not limited to): Compliance, Risk or Audit.
Minimum of 8 years experience in either Risk, Compliance, Audit or a strategic or transformation role at a senior level.
Third level qualification and/or Masters in related degree/subject preferably audit, project management, risk or compliance.
Knowledge and experience of various risk management methodologies and frameworks, in particular compliance.
Knowledge and experience of the Regulatory environment in which financial services / firm operates.
Experienced people leader with responsibility for leading and motivating highly effective teams.
Strong stakeholder management, communication and report writing skills.
Actively develop and maintain positive working relationships with senior business executives and managers.
Ideal Characteristics A highly motivated and assertive self-starter leader with an eagerness to learn and the capacity to work as part of a team.
Ability to handle multi tasks in a pressurised and demanding environment.
Awareness of the regulatory environments.
Flexible, positive attitude in their approach to work.
Working as a key part of the team in providing coaching and support to colleagues and ensuring that the department maintains optimum performance and delivery of objectives.
Excellent time management with the ability to work to tight deadlines and handle multiple demands.
A professional manner - presentable and personable with a calm demeanour.
A team player but also with the ability to work on own.
The initiative to challenge traditional ways of working and actively propose and drive digital change where applicable.
