Health And Safety Officer

Our client, an established construction firm, is looking to hire a Health and Safety Officer for their team in Youghal, Cork. The client specializes in the restoration and revamping of premises. As Health and Safety Officer, you will oversee all elements of safety and management systems within the company. This is an 18-month fixed-term contract, with great potential of being extended longer.
Duties and Responsibilities: To maintain the company's ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 accreditations and any future standards.To investigate any accidents, incidents, or near misses and to prepare a written report detailing corrective actions to be implemented to avoid reoccurrence.Carry out monthly site audits as required of all live sites and agree action points with site management on any issues identified.Advise management of special risks on specific contracts. Ensure appropriate action is taken.Perform weekly inspections and document records for HSE, fire safety, and plant maintenance.Foster a positive organizational culture regarding Health, Safety, Welfare, Quality, and Environmental concerns.Develop Health and Safety plans for the construction phase, compile Health & Safety files, and create Operational and Maintenance Manuals.Remain updated on existing legislation and best practices, and share this knowledge across the company.An Ideal Health and Safety Officer will have: At least 2 years experience within an HSQE-focused role within construction.NEBOSH Construction Diploma or General Certificate.Effective communication skills and ability to influence others.Full Driving License.
