The Gleneagle Group has an exciting new vacancy for a Health & Safety Executive .
This role will be based in Killarney and work across the Gleneagle Hotel, INEC Arena and Maritime Hotel.
Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager this role will contribute to the continued progress of the Health, Safety, Accessibility and Environmental agenda across the organisation impacting on a wide range of stakeholders including employees, guests, patrons, entertainment artists & suppliers as well as our local community.
This role will suit someone who may have previously worked in a Health & Safety Executive role, or has a legal administration or business administration background.
The key facets of this role are tenacious attention to detail, ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team and adaptable to work with stakeholders across the organisation.
A background in Health & Safety is preferred but not essential as training will be given.
Hours of work are generally Mon - Friday.
There will be some weekend work linked to our event calendar but these dates are scheduled well in advance.
We are open to tailoring the working hours during the weeks to balance other commitments the successful candidate may have outside of work.
Main responsibilities: Administration: Responsible for following up on in house documentation relating to incidents, ensuring all data is recorded, and stored in a timely manner.
Recording training completed and scheduling training dates.
Attending meetings with or on behalf of the Health & Safety Manager and recording action points.
Working with H&S Manager to ensure documentation required for live events is received in a timely manner and recorded.
ISO: Assist Group Health and Safety Manager in the upkeep of ISO 9001,14001, 45001, 20121 including maintenance of documentation, preparation and scheduling for internal and external audits.
Carrying out Health & Safety audits and risk assessments.
Environmental: Attending monthly environmental committee meetings, recording action points, completing environmental workbook with Finance dept.
Employees: Assisting employees in returning to work following absence, scheduling appointments for employees with medical professionals as needed.
The successful candidate: Third level qualification in business administration, health & safety or related field is preferred.
Previous experience working in an administrative capacity in a similar sized organisation Proven ability to work well with and communicate with a wide range of people Exceptional attention to detail and a completer / finisher.
