Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Management is a core specialist department within Operations Business Services, providing bank-wide focus and leadership, through the provision of professional procurement services to market leading standards, directly through internal resources and through external partnerships. Strategic Sourcing provides services across all AIB geographies, including the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, UK and US.
Responsible for building category strategy to ensure operational efficiencies. Establish a strong network and foster collaboration with suppliers, key stakeholders, and team members. Ensure that all expenditure is sourced and managed in accordance with appropriate governance and policies. Supervise, plan, manage and assume complete responsibility for all activities and processes associated with the categories assigned. Adapt to and understand technical solutions to problem solving, with the ability to articulate technology and service trends in terms business leaders will understand. Be an effective change agent, project managing multiple Sourcing initiatives and able to cope with simultaneous demands from different areas and levels of the business and stakeholders. Build and maintain strong working relationships with operational users, functional specialists and senior stakeholders to fully understand and help shape business and commercial requirements. Demonstrate strong commercial acumen with major suppliers engaged across multiple business units and where relevant a nominated AIB accountable executive. Reduce cost and add value to existing or future technology solutions by a robust application of sourcing and supplier development methodologies: sourcing strategy definition, demand & options challenge, optimising specification, joint process improvement, financial analysis, negotiation and contract due diligence. Develop and maintain expert knowledge of respective global supply markets, competitors and product innovations. What you will bring: Five+ years' experience in procurement, sourcing or related field delivering similar job outcomes. Experience leading key technology negotiations. Strong ability to translate stakeholder requirements into technology sourcing practices for favourable business outcomes. Excellent influencing/ negotiation skills, ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders. Deep understanding of industry and category trends and how they can translate into business value. Ability to develop business cases, presentations and stakeholder communications. Strong leadership, people management, verbal and written communication, organisational and planning skills.
