We are seeking a Junior Doctor to jointo join our dynamic team at our new up and coming Mental Health Service in Gormanston The post holder will be responsible for the planning and provision of high quality services across the business which includes assessment, diagnosis, devising, monitoring and reviewing treatment programmes. This will include the following on a day-to-day basis: Live our Mission, Vision and Values Assist in the provision of a quality service and work in line with national and locally devised policies and regulations. Undertake basic psychiatric assessments and diagnostic formulation of patients Undertake basic risk assessment, risk formulation and risk management of patients Work with the primary healthcare team to provide patients with primary medical care services within the standard of care for Internal Medicine patients. Order laboratory tests and refer patients to specialists when appropriate and called for. Analyse reports, test results, medical records and examinations to diagnose condition of patients and propose treatment options. Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified and documented medical conditions. Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients/families where appropriate and ensure that all allergy information is up to date before prescribing medication/treatment. Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and objectives, ongoing quality improvement objectives and safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all national health information privacy laws. Qualification Must be a fully Registered Medical Practitioner with the Irish Medical Council. MBBS or equivalent medical qualification. In good standing with Medical Council Ireland. Knowledge: Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 2001. Knowledge of the principles and practice of Psychopharmacology. Experience: Experience of working with adults who have mental illness and/or mental disorder in conjunction with complex care needs. Skills: Competent clinical skills with an ability to adopt a biopsychosocial perspective. Good clinical skills using biopsychosocial perspective and wide medical knowledge. Reflective Practitioner with demonstrable ability to reflect on CPD undertaken.
