Job Description Receive and log in samples into the laboratory.
Perform a variety of routine activities to quantitative microbial contamination in a variety of products and for different applications.
Execute validated analytical methods with minimal supervision.
Autoclave equipment for field testing team.
Perform a variety of routine sample testing to quantitatively measure gas quality in a variety of products and for different applications.
Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility.
Report issues to the quality department and take part in the relevant investigations.
Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), ISO17025 requirements and all internal processes.
Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
Participate in internal and external laboratory audits under the direction of the SGS GAS quality manager.
Be willing and able to work as a team member to ensure continuous improvement relative to laboratory functions.
Adhere to all safety protocols.
Organize and store all chemicals substances, fluids and compressed gases according to safety instructions.
Execute testing for method validation work under the supervision of the laboratory manager or her/his designate.
Qualifications Qualified laboratory technician or 2 years' experience in a relevant field.
Additional Information Proven experience as Lab Technician or relevant position Lead by example in promoting a Health & Safety culture.
Strong attention to detail.
Be dependable and reliable and able to work in a customer driven environment.
To be organised, self-motivated and able to prioritise and manage conflicting needs of the business.
This role requires occasional weekend work (short shifts – 2 to 4 hours) or consideration given to a Tuesday to Saturday work pattern.
