Due to continued growth, they're looking for a Maintenance Technician to join the team.
The successful candidate will manage the efficient operation of the Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) by performing maintenance on all equipment, machinery, and infrastructure within the facility.
This role is critical for ensuring maximum equipment uptime and safe, efficient operations within the company.
Key Responsibilities: Manage comprehensive maintenance programmes for all equipment and facilities, ensuring adherence to company policies and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Carry out and supervise preventive maintenance tasks on motors, conveyor systems, production machinery, and other waste processing equipment, following technical manuals and manufacturer guidelines.
Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and precision instruments, minimising downtime and maintaining operational efficiency.
Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, expediting orders when needed and ensuring compliance with procurement and purchase order procedures.
Lead, train, and supervise the maintenance team, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Allocate tasks, track team performance, and provide constructive feedback and opportunities for development.
Collaborate with operational teams to prioritise maintenance activities, ensuring alignment with production objectives.
Oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation, to guarantee the cost-effective running of the MRF and related facilities.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance performance, reduce costs, and extend equipment lifespan.
Enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, promptly addressing any issues to uphold a safe working environment.
Prepare and evaluate maintenance reports to identify trends, diagnose recurring issues, and propose actionable improvements.
What They're Looking For: At least 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in maintenance operations within a production or waste processing environment.
Excellent organisational and team leadership skills, with the ability to foster a safety-first culture.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, and automation technologies is an advantage.
Proven ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
Maintenance qualifications and experience with tracking systems are highly desirable
