The history of Abbott Diagnostics is filled with examples of first-of-a-kind products and significant technological advancements.PURPOSE OF THE JOB:To perform the day to day preventative and demand maintenance activity to maintain manufacturing and plant equipment.To maintain records and documentation on relevant Engineering Procedures, to perform equipment validation and preventative/ demand maintenance.To liaise with Internal/External Engineering Personnel and contract maintenance providers in maintaining troubleshooting and installing/commissioning equipment.To coordinate and implement equipment projects.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:The day-to-day demand and preventative maintenance and problem-solving of plant and manufacturing equipment to achieve product quality and production schedule goals.The completion and recording of functional and safety checks on plant and manufacturing equipment and correction of any deviations from specification, e.g.
air handling balance, plant water quality control, etc.Assistance in installation and validation of new and upgraded processes.Assistance in implementation of equipment/process upgrade in an environment of continuous improvement.Liaison with and assistance to contracted maintenance, e.g.
service/ commissioning engineers, factory inspectors, building contracts, site maintenance, etc.Establish with Area Team Leader/ Manager the department goals.Ensure Safety Standards are met and safe working practices adhered to.Foster and lead continuous improvement to the culture of safety.Recommend/implement improvements to safety standards.
Liaise directly with other departments in accident/incident investigations and address any issues arising from these investigations.Ensure Environmental procedures e.g.
recycling, waste minimization is adhered to and improvements made where possible.Assist in the preparation of Capital Expenditure Requests for Plant and manufacturing equipment.Support the Engineering Team in ensuring that facilities, utilities and equipment are maintained to meet the required legal, divisional and corporate standards.Liaise with Division Engineering as required.In conjunction with the Quality calibration co-coordinator ensure compliance with calibration requirements for both Plant and Manufacturing.Ensure the maintenance of the facility and manufacturing equipment.Ensure the maintenance of utility services and manufacturing plant.Ensure the maintenance of pest control, housekeeping and GMP.Ensure PM system is implemented on facility and manufacturing equipment.Identify and implement CIP's.Ensure External contractors are managed and supervised.Ensure the effective management of appropriate internal and external plant projects.Any other relevant duties as requested by the Area Team Leader/ Manager.EDUCATION & COMPETENCIES:Ideally a minimum of two years relevant experience in a hands-on engineering role or electrical trade experience.2 years experience of the maintenance of utility and/or process equipment in the healthcare or food processing industry.Must be a self-starter with the ability to organize and work within a team.
This experience is necessary to ensure the skills, management expertise and problem-solving techniques have been acquired.HOURS OF WORK:This is a 10 hour 4 day night shift Monday - Thursday, there is some flexibility with start time and an early finish on Friday morning
