To date we have delivered over 500MW of wind capacity, and we currently have over 600MW of onshore, 2GW of offshore in addition to 300MW of energy storage in our development pipeline.
We are looking for an OCC Delivery Manager to join our ever-growing team.
Duties & Responsibilities: The OCC Delivery Manager has the responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a centralised control centre, managing real-time monitoring and performance optimisation of renewable energy assets, such as wind farms, solar farms, and battery storage systems. You will lead a team of operators working closely with engineers ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable operation whilst optimising operational and commercial performance. The role will be tasked with high standards of delivery against current portfolio of assets, and the delivery of the strategic growth and efficiency plans for the future.
Key Responsibilities: Operational Management: Lead the OCC team in the real-time monitoring and control of renewable energy assets.Ensure assets are operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.Manage shift schedules to ensure 24/7/365 coverage.Oversee system outages, incidents, and fault response, ensuring prompt resolution.Coordinate with site teams and third-party contractors during asset outages, troubleshooting, and maintenance activities.Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and operational excellence standards.Performance Optimisation: Implement performance monitoring tools and strategies to identify areas for improvement.Analyse operational data to optimize asset performance and energy production, in collaboration with performance analysts.Work closely with field operations managers to maximize production and minimize downtime.Provide regular reports on asset performance, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), incidents, and optimisation opportunities.Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all operations are in line with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.Maintain compliance with local and international grid codes, standards, and regulations in line with customer agreed scope of works.Manage the control centre's compliance with industry standards, certifications, and protocols.Lead the incident management and emergency response processes, including reporting and investigation.Manage and mentor the OCC team, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability within the OCC.Lead recruitment, onboarding, and development efforts for new team members.Conduct regular performance reviews, identifying training needs and professional development opportunities.Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary point of contact between the OCC and internal/external stakeholders, including asset managers, field engineers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.Ensure clear communication and coordination during incidents, outages, and other operational events.Provide regular updates and reports to senior management regarding operational status, asset performance, and team performance.Desired Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing operational control centres, preferably in the renewable energy sector (wind, solar, battery storage).Proven experience in real-time monitoring, control, and optimisation of energy assets.Strong understanding of SCADA systems, grid operations, and power plant control systems.Experience working with renewable energy regulatory frameworks, grid codes, and safety standards.Experience in managing teams, including shift-based operations.Skills & Knowledge: Technical Expertise: Proficiency with SCADA systems, remote monitoring, and control technologies.Strong understanding of electrical systems, power generation, and grid integration.Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and techniques used in the renewables industry.Problem Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to respond to operational issues in real-time.Strong analytical skills for reviewing operational data and identifying trends or performance issues.Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.Safety-First Mindset: In-depth knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, and experience with emergency response protocols.Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the renewable energy sector, particularly wind, solar, and energy storage technologies.Knowledge of relevant energy policies, compliance standards, and operational best practices in the renewables industry.Education & Certifications: Degree or higher education in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy) or a related field.Professional certifications in energy management, power systems, or project management (preferred).Certification in HSE or equivalent safety management programs (preferred).This role is crucial for ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our renewable energy assets.
