Job Description We are currently sourcing a Scientist Il to join our PDS&T (Pharmaceutical Development Science & Technology) team onsite in Westport, Mayo. You will demonstrate an inquisitive mind, have a mastery of a broad range of experimental and data analyses techniques that you will use to develop, improve and scale-up new manufacturing processes within our Westport site. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Develop, improve and scale-up new manufacturing processes to bring medicines to patients Independently design, execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions. Understand the broad objectives of the project as well as their role in achieving those objectives, and modify experimental plan when required, to respond. Innovate and implement new experimental protocols. Demonstrate a high level of proficiency in your field. Set and meet experimental timelines. Impact projects mostly through lab/ pilot-plant/ commercial based activities where applicable. Learn, understand and master new experimental techniques, and act as a resource or mentor for others. Routinely read and apply relevant scientific literature.
Contribute to writing and conceptual framework of publications, presentations, and patents. Effectively organize and present scientific plans and data. Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials, controlled drug and radioactive compounds, GxP compliance, and animal care where applicable. Qualifications Ideally PhD with 2 years' experience or BS or equivalent education with typically 7 or more years of experience or MS or equivalent education with typically 5 or more years of experience. Demonstrated ability to independently design, execute and interpret critical experiments to answer scientific questions. Demonstrated ability to learn, understand and master new experimental techniques. Ability to multitask and work within timelines.
