ContextAre you a technical expert with a passion for transforming transport Infrastructure? SYSTRA Ltd are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to continue the growth of our transport infrastructure engineering design presence in the Irish market. This pivotal role will be based in Dublin primarily and will provide technical and delivery expertise on major projects delivered by SYSTRA. This is a key role within SYSTRA that will interface extensively with our external clients and will suit someone with a multidisciplinary technical engineering design background.
Missions/Main DutiesSupport the technical strategy for key projects or a portfolio of projects including influencing the production model for the project.Support the technical development of key projects.Build strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders and assist with the growth of new business and strategic relationships.Drive collaboration between our Consultancy and Engineering specialist technical teams and promote the expertise available across the UK & Ireland business.Provide support on the technical performance of the project and proactively identify solutions to any technical challenges.Collaborate with the delivery teams to innovate and find creative solutions to project challenges.Provide technical project reporting on performance, budget, and quality.Line Management of any relevant technical staff as we continue to grow.Build a strong global network within the wider SYSTRA group.Be aware of and manage the constraints of any perceived or actual conflicts of interest as they may arise.Make (3S) health, safety, and security part of everything you do.Profile/SkillsAppropriately qualified, chartered by a relevant professional body and / or suitably experienced.Demonstrable history of multi-disciplinary technical engineering on significant, complex projects.Experience of operating at a senior level within a large Engineering Consultancy or Design & Build organisation.Multidisciplinary Engineering Management experience of a significant nature.Able to act as an authority in one or more Engineering specialist areas.Significant major project and / or Line Manager experience.Experience of technically operating within client facing environments.Experience of liaising with overseas production and technically specialist centres of excellence.Behavioural Requirements for the RoleLiving the SYSTRA values of Bold Leadership, Connected Teams, and ExcellencePositive and enthusiastic leader and team playerConstantly seeking opportunities to collaborate with colleagues across the UK&I and wider groupPositive interaction with international colleagues and the ability to understand cultural differencesAbility to use time productively, maximise efficiency and to meet challenging work objectivesExceptional work ethic as well as ability to uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and othersPromote equality and diversity in the workplace and adopt appropriate behaviour when interacting with colleaguesTake necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of corporate information from unauthorised disclosure, modification or destruction and never knowingly put SYSTRA's information or information systems at riskAbility to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices will be required, in both Ireland and the UK.Ability to work in SYSTRA and/or client offices 3 days/week on averageWhy SYSTRA?Our three core values: Excellence, Connected Teams and Bold Leadership are kept at the heart of everything we do.
