Principal Process Development Engineer – Clonmel About the role: Boston Scientific Clonmel is seeking a highly motivated, experienced single use device engineer and technical leader. The role will focus on new product development, commercialization, and standardization strategies of new products/technologies. The candidate must have a desire to utilize their skills and leadership to solve technical/complex problems in both a hands-on manner and team setting, working in a fast-paced environment, and across multiple functions in a global company. The successful candidate for this position will provide strong leadership within quality systems and problem solving to enable medical device innovation. Works cross-functionally to lead process development of complex technologies on new products, drive/develop new business activities and rapid prototyping execution. Ensures efficient and effective transfer of product/technologies into production. Have a working knowledge of COGs models and has demonstrated VIP over a product lifecycle.
Your responsibilities include: Assesses process capabilities, prioritizes process improvement opportunities, and innovates and implements process improvements on platform or derivative projects.Applies technical knowledge to innovate, design, and develop processes, procedures, tooling and/or automation.Executes the functional deliverables associated with the PDP/TDP, Project Management, and Quality Systems.Prepares and presents technical data and recommendations at technical reviews.Ensures proper documentation is completed to meet quality systems requirements (e.g., BOM's, Routers, FMEA's, etc.).Writes and reviews validation protocols and reports applicable to new processes.Oversees development builds associated with the project using special work requests.Provides Design for Manufacturability (DFM) input to the engineering print package.Contributes ideas to or generates Intellectual Property submissions.Trains and/or provides work direction to technicians and engineers and may train manufacturing personnel when required as part of a validation.May serve as a core team lead or extended team member on new development projects.Possibly supervisor and/or mentor engineers with the team.What we're looking for: Basic Qualifications BS in technical discipline and 6+ years of experience.Demonstrated use of DFSS tools (DOE, problem solving).6+ years of demonstrated Process Development / Manufacturing Engineering improvement activities.Demonstrated cross functional teamwork in technically demanding environment.Demonstrated ability to develop equipment / fixtures from concept to production.Open to occasional travel of up to 10% of their time.Preferred Qualifications Imaging/SUD experience for this role essential.
