Procurement Specialist/ Buyer

Due to continuous growth, we look to hire a Procurement Specialist to join our team permanently.
Requirements: Min. 5 years continuous Buying / Procurement experience in Civils projects.Must be 3rd level educated in the discipline as a minimum or came through the industry in a trade or trainee capacity and switched into a professional Buyer / Procurement role.Key tasks as follows: Place Material, Plant & Equipment OrdersOn/Off Hiring of Plant & EquipmentCreation and management of Purchase orders - both subcontract and materials, for Construction, Civils and Engineering goods, works & services.Interface with Site to Book DeliveriesInterface with Yard to Manage Materials, Plant & EquipmentVendor onboarding - issue and collate relevant paperwork, use internal & external systems to add new suppliers & subcontractors to our database, and maintain with latest information.Strategic approach to sourcing new suppliers, negotiating best price, lead time whilst continually monitoring performanceBuild and maintain relationships with key suppliersVetting existing supply chain to ensure the company is attaining best value for moneyInterfacing with the accounts department in the timely management of Purchase Orders, budgets and cashflowFrequently liaise with Site Teams to ensure the timely ordering of materials and deliveryNegotiate terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment termsSource and procure equipment and materials according to project specifications and production requirementsAssess potential suppliers for quality, reliability, and cost-effectivenessAnalyse pricing and dataResolve issues related to shortages, overages, or quality discrepanciesVerify and authorise supplier invoices, addressing any discrepancies or issues with deliveriesIdentify and champion improvements to current procurement processesTrack and report on wider industry trends and oversee the management of the company inflation tracker.Be a champion of sustainable procurement practices within the company and across the supply chain.Work closely with Project Managers, Technical and Cost Management teams to ensure timely completion of key procurement activities to contribute towards the successful of projects.Have a strong innovation focus, including looking at new products and technologies and participating in the comparative analysis process.Support data analysis and reporting objectives of the Procurement team
