Job Specification: QQI Tutor - Vision Ireland Position Overview: The National Training Centre, operated by Vision Ireland, is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate QQI Tutor to join its team.
The QQI Tutor will play a crucial role in providing specialised education and training to individuals with who are blind or have low vision, empowering them to develop essential skills and achieve their personal and professional goals.
This position requires a strong commitment to inclusive education and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of learners with visual impairments.
This is a permanent full time position, 37 hours per week based in Vision Ireland's National Training Centre in Drumcondra, Dublin.
Closing date: October 22nd at 5pm Responsibilities: Educational Planning and Delivery: Design, develop, and deliver high-quality QQI accredited courses tailored to the unique needs of learners with sight loss.
Ensure course content aligns with QQI standards and promotes inclusive learning environments.
Utilise innovative and accessible teaching methods to engage learners and facilitate their understanding.
Individualised Support: Identify the learning needs of each student and create personalised learning plans.
Provide one-on-one tutoring and support for students who may require additional assistance.
Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment to enhance student confidence and success.
Accessible Materials and Technology: Collaborate with the Vision Ireland team to develop and provide accessible learning materials and resources.
Stay up-to-date with assistive technologies and incorporate them into the learning process to enhance accessibility.
Assessment and Feedback: Conduct formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback.
Identify areas of improvement and implement strategies to address learning challenges.
Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievements.
Prepare regular reports on student outcomes for the Vision Ireland management team.
Professional Development: Stay informed about advancements in accessible education and visual impairment-related research.
Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other Vision Ireland staff and external stakeholders to support a holistic approach to training and support services.
Engage in regular meetings to share best practices and ensure consistency in program delivery.
Qualifications and Requirements: QQI level 6 in Train the Trainer or commitment to achieve this award.
Experience in teaching, preferably in the context of adult education or learners with disabilities.
Familiarity with the QQI framework and accreditation processes.
Knowledge of assistive technologies and adaptive teaching methods for students with visual impairments.
Empathy, patience, and strong communication skills to effectively engage with learners of varying abilities.
Sensitivity to the needs of individuals with sight loss and a commitment to promoting inclusivity and accessibility in education.
