We are recruiting for a RD&A Scientist to be based at our Global Technology Innovation Centre in Naas. You will play a key role in the development of new scientific innovations within the Kerry RD&A team.
The successful candidate will support RD&A with analyses, tests and insights and will work as a member of a research unit/project team.

Key responsibilitiesPlays a key role in the development of new product innovations within the RD&A team.Responsible for new product development from the laboratory to pilot plant and ultimately to scale up at the factory.Works closely with other functions such as the Operations, Sales, Marketing and Regulatory teams to develop integrated, innovative and market relevant solutions and also to help troubleshoot production problems.Assists the site Operations teams to help troubleshoot production problems as required.Works with customers and suppliers to develop innovative solutions and resolve technical problems leading to the formation of strong technical relationships.Develops robust recipes, processes and application stability based on a thorough understanding of food product design and the fundamental physical and chemical interactions occurring in food products.Ensures applications meet legislation requirements in the regional or global markets where sales are expected, including any special criteria for the relevant category.Participates in designated RD&A projects and ensures appropriate documentation of experimental trials and outcomes to facilitate scale up and product transfer to manufacturing.Conducts basic research applying scientific principles for the improvement of existing products and the development of new products.Supports RD&A with product development insights, analytical and application expertise.Takes on a key role in the management and delivery of key customer projects and strategic research projects.Provides technical direction to other RD&A team members.Liaise with relevant external academic bodies.Qualifications and skillsBSc in Food Technology/Science/Engineering or other related fields.Realistic, practical, value-based problem solving abilities.Ability to contextualise (make insightful decisions, knowing the impact on other departments and business overall).Ability to manage time effectively.Understanding of project management principles.Working towards development of Scientific & Technical Expertise and Creative and Innovative Thinking.At Kerry, we believe in creating an inclusive and flexible work environment that empowers our employees across Europe.
