Job Summary: In this role the job holder will be responsible for developing and evaluating global compensation programs aligned to an operating unit(s) or function(s) within West and supports the overall Enterprise structure. The role will be responsible for enhancing our ability to attract, engage and retain team members while ensuring alignment with our Total Rewards philosophy, best practices, business strategies, and financial objectives. Programs include job leveling and pricing, salary survey participation, incentive plan administration, spot bonus administration, and annual compensation planning. This role reports to the Sr Mgr, HR, Total Rewards and works closely with HR Business Partners at sites as well as Talent Management and the global Total Rewards team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Analyze, develop, and recommend job levels and salary ranges for jobs using market data. Includes survey participation and data analysis.Act as the point of contact for all compensation issues within an operating unit(s) or function(s) including base pay, incentive and recognition plans and payments. Problem investigation, issue resolution, and follow-up are key components.Conduct internal job analysis and evaluation to ensure appropriate classification and grading of jobs and conducts external job analysis and evaluation by participating in and completing salary surveys to ensure market data is valid and useful.Analyze pay practices and programs to determine market competitiveness.Advises business units in job description design and provides development assistance as necessary. Reviews job descriptions to ensure completed descriptions meet legal and internal criteria.Advance global job framework using internal and external data tools, such as JDXpert.As part of global process, assist with the annual compensation planning process, including merit and short term incentives within the region.Provides recommendations to Compensation team for new or revised policies, processes and procedures and ensures that implementation occurs timely and policies and procedures are followed consistently.Administer and oversee day-to-day compensation administration with varying complexity.Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.Education and Experience: Minimum: Bachelor's degree with equivalent experience in HR, Business or related fieldsDesirable: Master's degree with equivalent experience in HR, Business or related fieldsExperience with compensation analysis, broad base pay, and job evaluation techniquesExperience with SAP and SuccessFactorsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities: Superior Excel skillsStrong attention to detail; excellent analytical skillsAbility to present to different stakeholdersExcellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with various levels and functions within the organization, develop relationships, influence in a matrix organization, active listeningMust have demonstrated problem-solving skillsMust be flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment with changing prioritiesMust be able to work independently and also be a strong team playerAble to comply with the company's safety policy at all timesAble to comply with the company's quality policy at all times.Quality and Safety Standards: Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set targetAccording to the principles of health and safety at work (substantiated by the Safety Leadership Statement), the job holder is aware of his/her particular responsibility regarding work safety and acts accordingly at all timesAble to comply with the company's quality policy at all times.The job holder is aware of his/her special responsibility for quality according to the company's quality policy and conducts his/her activities in accordance with the company quality policy at all times.The job holder respects all specifications arising from the cGMP requirements and from the specifications DIN ISO 15378, DIN EN ISO 9001 and DIN ISO 50.001 as per its current state and also as it applies to any future amendments.
