As the Senior Manager of Recruitment for the North Region (EMEA), you will play a critical role in setting the strategy and leading a team of internal recruiters and external partnerships to effectively attract, hire, and maintain a continuous pipeline of well-qualified talent.ROLE OVERVIEW:Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, EMEA, the Senior Manager, Cluster North (UK & Ireland) leads the recruiting center delivery across the UK & Ireland, covering 20+ sites or office locations across the two countries.
You will ensure the sourcing, recruitment, and selection of world-class talent.
Leading one of the most complex and high-volume sub-regions, you will manage a team of 18+ Talent Acquisition professionals and contractors through three team leads reporting directly to you.
Your role will involve delivering approximately 1,500-2,000 hires per year across multiple sites and locations, covering nearly all of Abbott's commercial and operations footprint in these two countries.
This includes our Medical Device, Nutrition, Core Laboratory, and Rapid Diagnostics businesses.
As a member of the EMEA TA leadership team, you will contribute to broader strategic and business initiatives, including talent pipeline development, expansion projects, succession planning, digital recruitment capabilities, and diversity and inclusion for your assigned scope.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and lead the Talent Acquisition strategy across the assigned countries to support business talent needs.Provide leadership and direction to a team of TA Managers/Team Leads and individual contributors to attract high-caliber talent that meets business needs.
Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop assigned teams.
Oversee the performance of direct reports, including setting their annual objectives and development plans.Foster a continuous learning environment that champions a diverse and equitable culture.Act as a key strategic adviser to internal clients on talent acquisition processes and efforts, implementing progressive strategies to attract top-quality talent into the organization.Integrate Branding, Early Careers, and Diversity strategies into your day-to-day and long-term planning.Partner closely with Business and HR Leaders, as well as additional functional leadership of the organization.Develop, present, and align with internal stakeholders on a talent acquisition strategy aimed at meeting business needs.
Consult and influence via recommendations based on data, analytics, and best practices.
Monitor and assess the external labor market and adapt existing recruitment activities to changing market conditions.Maintain high performance within commercial and operations recruiting while designing the talent acquisition landscape of the future by supporting and leading projects, driving and executing against key expansion plans or specific functional projects.Act as a strategic partner relationship manager for external institutions such as universities, high schools, and trade schools, to execute early intake strategies.
Own and manage the relationship with internal clients at director, GM, and occasionally up to Divisional VP level.Personally handle 5-10 full-cycle recruitments for leadership and the most difficult-to-hire positions annually.
Partner with sourcing specialists or external search partners as required.
Use cost-effective recruiting channels, implement direct sourcing initiatives, and create innovative campaigns to attract the best talentEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.8+ years of core TA experience with a minimum of 5 years of in-house TA experience in a matrix environment.5+ years of people management experience.
Team leadership experience over individual contributors and managers, acquired in a matrix and global environment.Full-cycle recruitment experience in healthcare or adjacent industries and across main functions: commercial, manufacturing, scientific, and corporate functions.Experience supporting hiring needs at director up to Division VP level across multiple functions, divisions, or business units.Subject matter expert in developing marketing campaigns and direct sourcing strategies to engage, attract, and nurture passive candidates.Successful track record of implementing talent acquisition best practices to enhance execution and operational excellence.Multi-country talent acquisition experience is preferred.
Healthcare experience is beneficial but not mandatory.The ideal candidate combines manufacturing and commercial recruiting experience, or any other complex specialty hiring experience in addition to manufacturing, and is future mobile outside of Ireland for further career growth in the Abbott HR network.This job can be based in any of the Abbott Ireland sites or office locations: Dublin Cherrywood or Liffey Valley, Kilkenny, Clonmel, Galway, Longford, Cootehill, Sligo, or Donegal.If not traveling, the role typically requires an average of 4 days onsite and allows 1 regular fixed day of home office.
