Key Responsibilities: Providing oversight of design across multiple projects including checking and carrying out peer reviews.Reviewing designs for their commissionability.Ensuring that the technical issues are resolved without delay.Liaising with the design and construction teams and supply chain to ensure correct operation of the plant on site and successful handover.Liaising with the project manager and preparing the project close out report.Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of mechanical engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members.Project Management: Oversee and coordinate mechanical engineering projects from concept to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, software development, and project management, to achieve project goals.Design and Development: Lead the design and development of mechanical components, systems, and products, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.Utilize CAD software and other tools to create detailed design specifications and documentation.Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Drive innovation within the mechanical engineering team, staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and optimize processes.Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control standards to ensure the reliability and performance of mechanical systems and products.Conduct thorough testing and validation processes, addressing any issues or defects.Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly with other engineering disciplines. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates, progress reports, and addressing any concerns.Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Proven experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.Minimum 5 years of design & construction experience essential.Strong proficiency in BIM software and other relevant engineering tools.Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.In-depth knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a high-performing team.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
