We are launching a new state-of-the-art technology facility in Dublin, Ireland, which will play a critical role in our digital transformation and serve as a center of excellence for SiriusXM's global Product and Technology organization.
The Dublin facility will focus on software development, automotive technology, engineering, AdTech, data science, and analytics. Talent based here will develop and implement best-in-class standards for high-quality, scalable software deliveries for SiriusXM's streaming and in-vehicle audio platforms.
How You'll Make an Impact: The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of new features for Satellite and IP features for SiriusXM client applications running on Android, Linux, and Windows platforms.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in embedded software development, designing, implementing, and testing sophisticated software architectures.
What You'll Do: Design, document, and implement customer and reference application software for SAT and IP streaming audio and data in automotive.Support the full software development lifecycle from initial feature definition through software release and in-field customer support.Analyze internal and third-party product requirements and specifications, understanding software framework architectures and designs to meet customer needs.Participate in software design and review sessions with the software team and stakeholders.Author software application notes, programming manuals, and training materials for SiriusXM partners.Develop software components, ensuring they meet functional and quality requirements.Utilize best practices in implementing software deliverables.Assist in supporting end-users of software deliverables.Perform special projects, lab/field testing, and other duties as necessary.Assist in developing user interface software specifications and software for SiriusXM Radio receiver products.Assist in developing advanced Infotainment and Telematics features for SiriusXM Radio receiver products.Provide regular and accurate reports to the Senior Manager – OEM Validation.Perform other duties as assigned.What You'll Need: BS in Software Engineering or equivalent experience required; Master's in Software Engineering is desired.5+ years of expertise in software, framework, and application development for embedded consumer or automotive products.Desired Experience: Experience with consumer or automotive audio and infotainment products.Knowledge of digital communications and client/server communications.Familiarity with protocols like BLE, WiFi, CAN, LIN, or Ethernet.Experience with Internet Protocol products and technology.Knowledge of IPC mechanisms – Sockets, Message Queues, Shared Memory, etc.Experience with Android, AAOS, Linux, AMZ Digital Cockpit.Familiarity with advanced software development environments and expertise in C/C++11 and/or Rust in an embedded environment.Experience with the Qt/QML framework and knowledge of object-oriented methodologies.Experience in formal documentation and source code reviews.Working knowledge of REST HTTP protocols and familiarity with agile processes.Familiarity with configuration management and defect tracking tools (GitHub, Jira).Familiarity with unit testing best practices.Good public speaking and presentation skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and in a team environment.Strong time management skills and attention to detail.Commitment to customer service principles and willingness to take initiative.SiriusXM is an equal opportunity employer that does not discriminate based on any characteristic protected by applicable laws.
