Vickerstock are working in partnership with a contracting solutions firm on the appointment of an SHEQ Manager.
As a SHEQ Manager, you will be the internal point of contact for line managers and site supervisors in relation to health and safety policies and procedures and relevant health and safety legislation.
In your new role: Ongoing revision and enforcement of health and safety policies to foster a strong safety culture within the company Primary point of contact for clients regarding Health and Safety matters Development and distribution of risk assessments and method statements to ensure workplace safety Prompt and professional investigation of accidents and incidents, adhering to specific contractual deadlines Implement appropriate preventive measures and actions based on risk assessments, and accident and incident investigations Design, organise, and lead Health and Safety training sessions for employees Perform fire risk assessments and coordinate emergency evacuation training Conduct and oversee safety audits throughout the organisation Ensure comprehensive vehicle and road safety in collaboration with the Fleet Manager Ensure full compliance with tools and PPE regulations Prepare and distribute toolbox talks Complete internal and client SHEQ reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis Design and deliver detailed and engaging Health and Safety Induction programmes Continuously monitor, manage, and ensure compliance with employee training requirements Provide coaching and mentoring to front-line team members as needed Report and investigate accidents to HSENI and HSA Drive continuous improvement and attainment of Health and Safety accreditations for the company What you will need to succeed: 5 years' experience in a senior SHEQ role Third level education in Health and Safety related discipline NEBOSH/IOSH qualification Previous experience in the Utilities/Infrastructure/Building Services industries Experience with investigations, audits, inspections, compiling reports and making recommendations as appropriate High level of communication skills, including written, oral and presentation skills Confident in maintaining composure and managing with difficult situations Excellent IT skills (MS Office) Desirable (it would be great if you have this, but don't worry if you don't): Previous electrical experience or Health and Safety experience working within the electrical industry Train the Trainer certification First Aid training For a confidential conversation on how Vickerstock can help support you with your next move, get in touch with Sam Geddis, our Health and Safety Specialist today.
