The Job: As a key part of the shipping operations team & reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing of vessels at port. This will include duties such as acting as point of contact for customers & external partners/contractors, coordinating the loading & unloading of vessels at the port, stock/inventory & warehouse operations reporting, maintaining correct import & export documentation, planning for incoming traffic, resolving issues & supporting the management team with their ongoing duties. Experience/Skills required: 3rd level qualified ideally. 2-3+ years' experience in a relevant shipping, freight, logistics, or similar role however full practical & professional training will be provided to the successful candidate. Full & clean driving license as well as your own transport is essential. Proven ability to multi-task & work with diverse teams.Strong IT skills. The role will include some rostered weekend work (1 in 4 weeks) as well availability to be on call on occasional rostered nights. The Offer: This position is being offered as a permanent role with a generous base salary on offer but depending on candidate skills & experience to date. In addition there will be a generous benefits package including pension, health cover, life assurance & overtime payments or time in lieu for weekends/night cover.
