Skills and AttributesAcute CareMedical NursingColposcopyDescriptionThe Colposcopy service at Sligo University Hospital comes under the auspices of the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Services in collaboration with Cervical Check and is an accredited colposcopy clinic. Based within the Hospital adjacent to the Day Services Unit on level 6, there is access to prompt diagnosis and effective treatment with adequate information and counselling available at all stages (NCSS, 2009). There are three consultant Gynaecologists attached to the service running on average 3-4 clinics per week. There are also 1-2 Nurse Led Colposcopy clinics per week. Four nurse-led smear clinics are also held per month.
