Job Description Role Purpose To assist the Community Services Managers in the development, implementation, and delivery of quality customer focus and cost-effective support to service users.
This includes the provision of individual programmes and activities to meet the needs, choices and abilities of service users, and an active contribution towards the involvement of Stewarts Community in the expansion of service provision within the local community.
Key Responsibilities Practice Nursing according to the Code of Professional Conduct as laid down by the Bord Altranais agus Cnimhseachais na hireann (Nursing Midwifery Board Ireland) and Professional Clinical Guidelines.
Adhere to national, regional and local Health Service Executive (HSE) guidelines, policies, protocols and legislation.
Work within their scope of practice and take measures to develop and maintain the competence necessary for professional practice.
Maintain a high standard of professional behaviour and be accountable for their practice.
Be aware of ethical policies and procedures which pertain to their area of practice.
Respect and maintain the privacy, dignity and confidentiality of the patient.
Follow appropriate lines of authority within the Nurse Management structure.
Deliver the nursing care of an assigned group of Service Users within a best practice / evidence-based framework.
Manage a designated caseload.
Promote the health, welfare and social wellbeing of Service Users within our services.
Actively participate as a multi-disciplinary / inter-disciplinary team member in all aspects of service delivery including case conferences, clinical meetings, team meetings.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual person-centred care programmes within an agreed framework and in accordance with best practice.
The Person Candidates must demonstrate sufficient competency and professional knowledge to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the role.
Applications are invited from candidates who are currently registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland in the RNID Division.
Applications from other nurses registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland who have a minimum of 1 year's experience in the area of Intellectual Disability will also be considered.
Candidates will possess a high level of communication skills, work well within a team and be able to provide high quality focused care.
Must have strong command of English language (both verbally and written) and be eligible to work in Ireland.
Candidates should be proficient in IT.
One years' experience supporting people with an intellectual disability is desirable.
H ave an up-to-date, valid Irish Driving Licence.
