Manage and oversee the work of a team of employees in warehousing, logistics, trade compliance and materials management. Responsible for all incoming and outgoing materials (raw materials, subassembly, sterile loads, finished goods) to ensure cost effective on-time delivery of products. Cooperate with global / regional supply chain, operations, quality, finance and IT to implement warehouse, logistics and trade compliance system strategy. Manage 3rd party logistics providers / customs clearance broker to ensure optimized material flow and services. Ensure compliance in related processes, activities, system transactions, documentation and operations.
How Will You Make An Impact? Direct and oversee warehouse activities including incoming and outgoing raw materials and/or intercompany supplies and purchased components, sub-assembly and finished goods to ensure the timely receipt/shipment of product and efficient utilization of facilities for storing & picking.Manage warehouse workflow and activities, proper storage, inventory accuracy, reports on product consumption cycle and action to reduce slow moving active inventory or obsolescence. Establish processes and controls for assigned inventories, including FIFO, shelf-life management and temperature control. Work within SC team to attain optimum inventory level within the planned budget and meet planned inventory turns.Develop robust processes with 3rd party freight forwarders and customs clearance broker, establish management routines with a continuous improvement mindset.Partner with planning/purchasing and production on materials and work-order schedule. Ensure daily production schedule is executed per plan to avoid disruption to the operations.Partner with operations and quality to establish processes required to pre/post sterile load management, ensuring optimal loads and on-time processing of shipments and returns.Lead and train staff to ensure all shipments are executed timely and meet relevant customs / trade compliance requirements. Anticipate potential risk and pro-actively resolve issues to meet shipment objectives. Work with Regional SC to optimize transportation modes and maintain policies and procedures for logistics activities.Responsible for the accuracy of all systems transactions. Ensure all documentation and processes are compliant with corporate and regulatory requirements. Participate in audits.Manage warehouse capacity, including warehouse design / kit-out, equipment, storage solutions and work flows to optimize cubic square footage.Develop weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to analyze and review trends / performance and recommend improvements in warehouse practices to promote efficiency and cost effectiveness. Prepare and manage Warehouse / Logistics budget and operate within approved budget. Deliver VIP (Value Improvement Projects) per annual objectives.Responsible for delivering department and company strategic goals and initiatives. Develop a robust talent development plan in alignment with departmental functional growth strategies.Provide guidance and/or lead discussions with management and other stakeholders on key initiatives and improvements. Collaborate with cross function teams (e.g. Manufacturing Engineering, Facilities, Finance, Supply Chain, Microbiology, Chemistry and Quality) on projects.Other incidental duties.What You Will Need? Bachelor's Degree in Material/Engineering/Logistics/Business or equivalent.Demonstrated track record in people management.Demonstrated experience working in warehousing and logistics related fields, preferably the pharmaceutical/medical device/chemical industry in a manufacturing environment.Experience working in a regulated industry preferred.What Else We Look For? Expert understanding of supply chain, in particular Logistics (Freight, Warehousing and Trade Compliance).Proven background in scaling warehousing, logistics and relevant experience in managing 3rd party warehousing/logistics.Expert understanding of related aspects of supply chain processes and/or systems e.g. Planning, Procurement, Inventory and Supplier Management.Knowledge in Warehouse Management System (WMS), Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP), JD Edwards (JDE) knowledge preferred.Knowledge in trade compliance and most countries customs regulatory requirement preferred.Knowledge in EHS and authority requirement on Hazardous chemical storage / disposal / transportation.Proven successful project management leadership skills.Understanding of Quality Management Systems, Procedures, Manufacturing Methods and Cost Reduction Techniques.Able to manage resources and delegate appropriately. Operate with a lean organization.Knowledge of financial mechanism that relates to supply chain.Experience with having P&L responsibility, budget management, and ability to create and maintain various management reports.Strong initiative and demonstrated ability to interface effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization and work cross-culturally.Ability to develop and integrate metrics into the projects and operations that clearly demonstrate the value of supply chain to the business.Proven ability to foster good working relationships between internal/external teams and suppliers.Strong conflict management and decision making skills.Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.Ability to operate, lead and thrive in a team environment.Knowledge of Microsoft office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules).About UsEdwards Lifesciences is the global leader in patient-focused medical innovations for structural heart disease, as well as critical care and surgical monitoring.
