Our Kilkenny-based client is searching for a dedicated Sustainability Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving eco-friendly and sustainable practices in their projects. Your expertise in LEED assessments and sustainable design principles will ensure that buildings not only meet but exceed environmental standards, contributing to a more sustainable future.
Our client is well known in the sustainability space, working on some of the most exciting and interesting Commercial, Residential, and Healthcare projects in the Irish market. With a great team of senior-level engineers with years of experience in the industry, this is also a brilliant opportunity to further enhance your experience whilst gaining fantastic project experience.
This role is permanent, so job security is guaranteed! Our client is busier than ever, with a great variety of projects to get stuck into, so you will be able to get going from the get-go!
Key Responsibilities:Conduct LEED assessments and manage certification processes to ensure projects achieve desired sustainability ratings.Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to integrate sustainable design solutions from concept through to construction.Develop and evaluate sustainable design strategies, including energy efficiency, water conservation, and materials selection.Perform environmental and energy modeling, providing insights on the most impactful sustainability measures.Monitor industry trends, staying up-to-date with advances in sustainable practices and regulatory requirements.Qualifications and Skills:Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years' experience in a sustainability engineering role, ideally within a consultancy setting.LEED accreditation is highly desirable.Strong understanding of sustainable building certifications and regulatory frameworks.Proficiency in energy modeling software (e.g., IES, EnergyPlus) and sustainable analysis tools.Excellent communication and project management skills, with a collaborative approach to multidisciplinary teamwork.Experience within a consultancy environment is highly advantageous.Our client offers a very competitive salary in relation to the market average, along with a brilliant benefits package including a hybrid working model, company pension, and healthcare schemes.
