This position is for K2 Data Centres, a company under Kuok (Singapore) Limited, based in Dublin, Ireland.Purpose of the Role: To provide specialist, training and service support of an operational Critical environment providing 24/7/365 on-site support of a production data center facility.
The Technical Specialist is responsible for the emergency response, training and maintenance of critical services within the data center environment.
These activities typically include the planning activities daily ensuring all aspects of the shift & facility are covered & monitored during your day.
All paperwork associated with the planned maintenance visits of vendors - based on the main sub-contractor schedule for each contract year - is ready and in place for the operations team (locks, tags, procedures etc.).
It is the Technical Specialist's responsibility to coordinate critical actives across facilities.Responsibilities:Reports to Technical Lead Under the direction of the Critical Facilities Manager.
He is responsible for the supervision of the Critical Maintenance schedules and training across facilitiesSpecialist, manage, and be responsible for ensuring the successful operation, maintenance and repair of all critical environment systems while maintaining 100% uptime to all critical power systems on site at all timesPrioritize and assign PPM's /TT's planned & unplanned work orders to achieve & maintain 100% compliance every month.Adherence to all quality, health & safety, and environment policies within the domainCoordinate ongoing maintenance and activities within the Data Centre for facilities.
During your day you will have full overview & awareness of all activities and, in conjunction with the facility Specialist, will prioritize these activities.Ensure all subcontractors are inducted and permitted to work within the domain prior to issuing permits to work.You and the teams need to review subcontractor method statements, risk assessments, and MSDS to ensure compliance with site health & safety and operating procedures prior to you or your team issuing permit to works.Be in attendance when possible of all switching activities and are K2's Senior Authorized PersonEnsure completion of all your shift team's scheduled PMs and ensure all your shift Data Centre Specialists carry out their scheduled PMs in a timely manner (PMs as issued through CAFM) to achieve 100% PM complianceUpdate and log all activities/time on CAFM.
Ensure your shift team update & record all their time/activities on CAFM and future operating systemsEnsure all DCS are trained on all Systems and game days are conducted regularly across facilitiesEnsure full PPE and safety practices are followed and practices sharedAdhere to and drive all shift teams to achieve acceptable scores on the team KPI Scorecard as located on CAFM.Provide input into and develop site specific procedures including EOPs, SOPs, MOPs, Aps and EOP Drills as issued by Management.Ensure that you are fully conversant with the site Emergency Response Plan and co-operate with the SOC/FOC during site emergenciesReport health and safety breaches and concerns to your manager as soon as possible.
Complete a minimum of 4 drills per month.Escort and supervise/monitor work of third-party engineers and sub-contractors to ensure their compliance with the site standards when performing maintenance or relevant activity.Develop a good working relationship with all members of K2 staff and the Customer representatives.Carry out Toolbox talks once every shift rotation to achieve & exceed your shift teams monthly target.
All tool box talks need to be signed off and issued to the contract support on completion.Ensure the professional image of k2 is presented to clients and visitors at all times while on site.Adhere to all k2 quality, health & safety, and environmental policies and documentation requirements while performing work.Undertake other tasks as defined and requested by local management.Working environment entails:Walking job sites which have areas of uneven terrain.Work at heights.Regularly lift and/or move items and participate in group lifts.Work shifts longer than eight hours in duration.Co-ordinate body movements when using tools or equipment.May require bending or twisting the body to access equipment while working.Involves performing physical tasks all day.Use hands to manipulate small wires and objects.Push or pull objects into position.Work in a noisy environment.Work in confined spaces.Circumstances:The Technical Specialist is the next point of contact - after the Shift cover technician - to cover shifts during emergency situations to provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice.
