The role As a Director of Engineering, you will lead the technology teams reporting directly to the Ireland country head. This position will be responsible for hands-on delivery strategy for maintaining and enhancing a high performing Specialty & Home Delivery Pharmacy core platform while maintaining exceptional professionalism and customer service standards. You will also lead efforts to incorporate InfoSec, Audit and Disaster Recovery best practices across the pharmacy platform. You'll collaborate with peers from the parent company enterprise, business operations, and other engineering disciplines to ensure alignment on key business goals.
Primary duties and responsibilities: Make ongoing recommendations of technology strategy, standards, and system configurationsAnalyze current best practices and support models to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvementEnsure timely support for engineering and app development utilizing best-in-class technologies and agile development methodologiesDrive teams to meet various quality engineering metrics like team velocity, defect density, and deployment effectivenessProvide expert level Software Engineering, DevOps, QA COE, and production support knowledge and counsel to othersEnsure uptime, monitoring, and smooth functioning of pharmacy applicationsCoordinate all InfoSec, Audit, and Disaster Recovery compliance activities for the core pharmacy platformDrive the analysis, design, and development of a roadmap and implementation plan based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpointConstantly monitor and evaluate emerging technologies and digital trendsUnderstand the practicalities of DevOps and Quality gating style (agile/lean) approaches to support software developmentDeliver highly efficient support model for complex business applicationsPartner with other architects and engineering teams to define, design, and implement improved delivery processesAssist in technical presentations and info-sharing sessions to create a clear and uniform understanding of the pharmacy systems to various constituentsProvide guidance and lead resolution of technical issues as they ariseLead and support the needs of strategic roadmap and Blueprint activityAttract, mentor, and retain high performance development teamCreate roadmap documents, coding standards, process documents, Agile Development methodology, and governance documentsAssist with project engagements to document technical requirements for database, applications, integration, infrastructure, etc.Drive the design and construction of pharmacy complex business problems into innovative technology solutionsQualifications: Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field required10+ years of experience in leading Software Engineering, product implementation, and production support in a 24/7 environment, Healthcare industry preferred10+ years of hands-on experience with Agile, DevSecOps, and QA COE frameworkDetailed knowledge of AWS DevOps, JIRA, Confluence, Portfolio, and other agile toolsThought leader on the Java & Microsoft Technology Stack with demonstrated ability to lead a Strategic RoadmapExperience with M&A activities in PBM/Pharmacy highly preferredFamiliarity with IT Audit, Security, and Disaster Recovery functionsStrong experience in modern engineering and development methodologies5+ years working with a blended onshore/offshore modelExperience designing and implementing IT Disaster RecoveryExperience with security, audit, and privacy standards, e.g., HIPAA, SOC, HITRUST, and URACDemonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, and management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-inDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
