Job Purpose To support life-long learning through the arts and to achieve a high quality of creative and personal development. Theatre coordinator requires a good knowledge of drama and a good understanding of drama facilitation.
A coordinator will have a passion for arts participation centred cultural work and is expected to support high quality artist led development for all the participants in the Equinox Theatre Company and acting programmes.
Key Responsibilities The principal duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Facilitate Equinox Theatre Company and acting programme when scheduled Identify and support the needs, wellbeing and artistic development of Equinox actors To ensure that the artistic integrity of the Equinox Theatre Company reflects that of KCAT's arts policies Coordinate (in collaboration with other facilitators) performances, collaborations and projects Collaborate with KCAT team to deliver and oversee theatre projects as they arise.
To work with existing arts/ drama initiatives in the local and regional area.
To identify and form strategic partnerships for theatre development To participate in monitoring and evaluation KCAT theatre practise Coordinating and managing (in collaboration with other staff) non-pay theatre budget and funding applications; involving planning long term Job related administration and documentation Purchase, storage and maintenance of materials and equipment Other functions: To represent KCAT at meetings, conferences and seminars as and when directed To have sound knowledge of the values and purpose of KCAT and to behave at all times in a way that upholds those values.
To work in accordance with the policies and procedures laid down by Camphill Communities of Ireland To engage in personal and professional development that will ensure the necessary skills and knowledge in meeting the needs of the position.
Perform other related duties as necessary and assigned by the Centre Coordinator. Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience A 3rd level qualification in theatre or equivalent relevant qualification or experience in education, health or allied field.
Experience in facilitating groups in an theatre context.
At least 2 years' experience in working with adults with an intellectual disability/ autism.
Experience of running programmes for adults with an intellectual disability/autism.
Ability to contribute towards the support, coaching, managing and motivating and developing a mixed workforce of volunteers and employees.
Good planning skills and the ability to contribute to the development of Person Centred Artistic Plans and Programme Support Plans.
