They are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport Manager to join their team.
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of transportation operations to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of goods to their customers.
Responsibilities: Plan and coordinate daily transportation activities, including route scheduling, vehicle assignments, and driver assignments.
Monitor and manage transportation costs to ensure they remain within budgetary constraints.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
Oversee the maintenance and repair of company vehicles to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
Coordinate with other departments, such as warehousing and customer service, to ensure seamless transportation operations.
Supervise and train transportation staff, including drivers and logistics coordinators.
Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve transportation efficiency and productivity.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess transportation performance and identify areas for improvement.
Resolve transportation-related issues and address customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
Utilize Microsoft Office packages proficiently for data analysis, reporting, and communication purposes.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation management, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in transportation management, with a strong understanding of distribution operations.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards, such as DOT regulations (preferred).
Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
