Transport Planner

Details of the offer

Our client is seeking a Transport Planner to join their team based in Shannon, Clare Responsibilities: Coordinate and schedule domestic vehicle transport for Road Freight and Logistics clients.
Track vehicle usage, optimize trucking performance, and plan loads effectively.
Oversee transport-related documentation and keep delivery/collection statuses up to date.
Address transport inquiries by coordinating with other depots and departments.
Actively communicate with warehouse staff and drivers to ensure high-quality service.
Respond to inquiries and resolve reported issues efficiently.
Accurately and promptly enter data into relevant systems.
Process new job information received from customers via email, spreadsheets, or EDI.
Apply customer rates and supplier charges as necessary.
Coordinate with warehouse and yard staff regarding inbound trailer arrivals and manage the offloading process in accordance with customs regulations.
Handle customer and driver calls, providing assistance with their inquiries.
Manage customer shipment tracking requests in a professional manner.
Forward customer service issues to the appropriate teams and ensure follow-up until resolution.
Conduct driver debriefs upon their return to the depot, ensuring that driver apps and handheld devices are functioning properly.
Ensure that the transport routing and GPS systems are operational and consistently used for the distribution fleet based in Shannon.
Maintain a high standard of customer service at all times.
Requirements: Prior experience in a similar role.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Self-driven with excellent communication skills, capable of working both independently and as part of a team, and accountable for tasks and decisions.
Ability to work autonomously.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to perform well under pressure.
Forklift license (preferred).
