About Technical Operations
BioMarin's Technical Operations group is responsible for creating drugs for clinical trials and scaling production for the commercial market.
These engineers, technicians, scientists, and support staff build and maintain manufacturing processes and sites, ensure quality assurance and control to meet regulatory standards, and support the logistics of distributing our drugs worldwide.
Utilities Engineer - Shanbally, Ringaskiddy, Cork Closing Date: 20th May 2025 The Utilities Engineer reports to the Senior Manager for Maintenance Operations and Utilities.
Responsible for running and maintaining utilities in line with cGMP and regulatory requirements, this role provides guidance and support to ensure the compliance and operational efficiency of plant utilities.
Key Responsibilities: System Owner for some site Utility SystemsSite SME for clean utilities system with overall responsibility for the compliant operation of critical clean utilitiesSupport start-up of all facility utilities (clean and black) during projects and shutdownsEnsure HVAC systems operate within critical area standards and parametersUtilize Six Sigma tools for root cause analysis and implement corrective actionsMaintain utilities operational, available, and GxP compliant at all timesCoordinate contracts with Legal and QAContribute to site utility master planning to meet site and business needsEnsure maintenance and calibration adhere to cGMP, safety, and quality standardsGenerate and analyze utility metricsUse permit to work and other safety systems for engineering activitiesParticipate in HAZOP, FMEA, and design reviewsSupport energy management and sustainability initiativesMaintain engineering drawings and documentation in complianceManage quality records such as change requests and deviationsIdentify critical spare parts for equipmentForecast and control the site energy budgetPlan and execute utility shutdownsPerform other duties as assignedNote: This description is not exhaustive and may include other duties as assigned.
