We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant Manager to support our warehouse operations, oversee staff, and drive efficiency in our inventory management.
Key Responsibilities Operational Support: Assist the Warehouse Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure smooth workflows.
Monitor and ensure timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of inventory.
Develop and implement strategies to optimise warehouse processes.
Team Leadership: Supervise warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Foster a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork and accountability.
Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts and regular audits.
Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to ensure stock levels meet demand.
Compliance and Safety: Enforce compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
Ensure the warehouse operates under optimal health and safety conditions.
Reporting: Generate and analyse reports on warehouse productivity, inventory levels, and staff performance.
Provide recommendations for improvements to the Warehouse Manager.
Technology & Equipment: Assist in managing warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools.
Oversee the maintenance and proper use of warehouse equipment.
Qualifications and Skills Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
Experience in the retail or footwear industry is a plus.
Skills: Strong organisational and time management skills.
Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
Previous experience with stock management systems essential Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
Comfortable working in varying warehouse conditions (e.g., temperature changes).
