Our client is a highly successful group with a strong nationwide presence.
The business has grown substantially in recent years and now seeks to appoint a Management Accountant to play a key role in the continuing success of this business.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a broad hands-on management accounting role and an opportunity to make a strong contribution to the continued success of the business.
The role will include the monthly close process, providing timely and accurate management accounts and financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities: Preparation and ownership of monthly management accounts for a portfolio of outlets nationwide.
Responsible for the review and financial analysis of store performance and overhead spend, highlighting opportunities for cost saving.
Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reconciled accurately and on a timely basis Assist with the implementation and maintenance of a robust control environment including intercompany balances, control account reconciliations and stock Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Continually evaluate and optimise weekly and monthly close and other finance processes, striving to deliver best practice in process automation, efficiencies and improved accuracy Assist in managing VAT return workings and submissions Assist with the annual audit process for various legal entities; this will include the preparation of individual management and statutory accounts Manage the preparation, review and submission of tax forms for relevant entities Manage requirements around submission of accounts Other ad hoc projects as assigned Applicants should: Finalist or Qualified accountant with 2 years industry experience Be results driven and have a proactive & positive attitude Possess strong attention to detail to ensure completeness and accuracy of information Be able to manage large volumes of transactions and work towards deadlines Ability to find a positive solution while balancing different stakeholder needs Proficient IT and analytical skills, particularly in Excel Ability to work on own initiative An attractive remuneration & benefits package will be offered to the successful candidate.
