Job Title: Assistant Accountant (Invoicing & Month-End Close Specialist)
Location: Remote, East Coast based (may be required to visit the Boston office on an ad-hoc basis)

Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling invoicing, supporting month-end close activities, and performing ad-hoc accounting tasks across various entities. The position requires an individual who is adept with Microsoft Office, Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Key Responsibilities: Proactively engage with internal team members to identify and resolve outstanding documentation issues (e.g., vendor registration, purchase orders, signed statements of work).Process invoicing for multiple entities in a timely and accurate manner.Assist in month-end close activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.Perform ad-hoc accounting tasks as needed to support various departments and ensure compliance with accounting principles.Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and efficient accounting operations.Collaborate with other departments to resolve invoicing and payment issues.Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.Qualifications: Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.3-5 years of proven experience in invoicing, month-end close, and general accounting tasks.Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Familiarity with Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with multiple entities and multi-currency transactions.Experience with supplier portals e.g. SAP Ariba, Taulia, Coupa, etc.Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.Company Description: Putnam, an Inizio Advisory company, is a leading scientific and strategic consulting partner that helps the global life science community make confident decisions, build value, and bring life-changing innovations to clinicians and patients.
