Summary:
Our client, a biopharmaceutical company located in Dublin City Center, is seeking an Accounts Payable Accountant with experience in applying accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyse financial information, prepare accurate and timely results and to ensure appropriate account control procedures. The successful candidate will be an important member of a cross-functional, multi-national, finance team supporting General Ledger accounting and Accounts Payable.
Responsibilities: Reviewing the accuracy, completeness and ageing of the GRIR (goods received/invoice received) transactions across the European/Canada region
Ownership of the GRIR reconciliation and matching.
Follow up with business partners to ensure their responsibilities are fulfilled. Escalation of issues as required. Preparation and upload of journal entries as required. Perform and upload monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and follow up and resolve reconciling items promptly. Proactively identify, rectify and follow-up on errors and causes of errors while managing the quality and development of financial accounts, systems, and processes. Identify opportunities for continuous process improvements and innovative solutions so the team can operate efficiently. Provide required deliverables for the year-end financial statement audit process and the SOX audit process. Contribute to team effort and assist co-workers as needed. Work closely with Finance colleagues both locally and globally, adhering to global deadlines. Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis, queries and EMEA Finance activities as required. Qualifications & Experience: University degree in Business, Finance or Accounting. Qualified Accountant preferred. Minimum one-year relevant experience in a similar role is essential. Knowledge of both US GAAP and IFRS is advantageous. Familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley and internal controls is desirable. SAP experience is desirable. Proficiency in PC skills (particularly Word, Excel, and Microsoft Projects).
