Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client is seeking to recruit on the Accounts Payable team, someone who can thrive in a busy /changing organisation and can lead and solve issue with our remote shared service centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to demonstrate excellent in depth understanding of accounts payable in general and drive / implement KPI's to track and measure results. The successful candidate will be a confident people person who can fit in seamlessly and adopt a hands-on approach to their role.
Key Responsibilities: • Invoicing:
o Ensure that the AP team process all Supplier Invoices within the timescale.
o Help AP team resolve any issues/ discrepancies on pending AP Invoice/Credit Notes.
o Ensure that all query invoices are resolved within a timely manner.
o Identify root cause issues and implement solutions with the processing team.
• Reconciliations:
o Review and approve creditors reconciliations.
o Looking for accounting accuracy.
o Root cause issues and implement solutions with the reconciling team.
o Capacity to analyse complex / large data and find relevant issues.
• Supervision:
o Ensuring that policies and procedures for the AP process are followed by our outsource partners.
o Review daily/weekly/monthly AP performance reports.
o Reviewing the closing AP ledger in accordance with the month end / quarter end close timetable.
• Budgeting:
o Budget holder reviews-preparation of monthly accrual/prepayments.
o Help set future budgets.
• Other:
o Overseeing on-going projects to solve AP related system interface issues.
o Payments reviewer and approver (RCT).
o Preparation & assistance with year-end audit.
o Office management skills.
The Candidate Experience & Skills The successful candidate will: • Hold a minimum of 4 years relevant experience and proven track record in Accounts Payable.
• Has excellent people management and communication skills and be a strong role model for staff and our brand.
• Be a self-starter who can work on own initiative and ensure successful delivery of key task on time.
• Be a solution orientated and positive individual who can work through constraints and obstacles to an optimal solution.
• Has strong logic and decision-making skills.
