Job Description ·         To plan and arrange a varied activities programme in agreement with the Manager and in accordance with best practice.
·         To reassess the list and schedule of activities on a quarterly basis and discuss possible changes and/or additions with the Manager.
·         To maintain a resident, notice board to provide information on all weekly activities planned and any other items of interest to the Residents.
·         To attend required and additional training to comply with legislation and improve practice and standards.
·         To adhere to all company policies and procedures.
·         Update each Residents individual activities documentation monthly.
·         Ensure each resident has an up to date and complete Life Story Book.
·         To initiate and assist in the planning and execution of all events, such as birthday parties, Christmas parties or other celebrations and seasonal events, and to be present during those events.
·         As part of the admissions process, welcome each new Resident (or significant other) to the Nursing Home and identify how they enjoy spending leisure time.
·         To endeavour to bring happiness, joy, interest, and mental exercise to the daily lives of each resident.
·         To plan and produce a regular Residents newsletter.
·         To assist in the personal care of residents if the need arises.
·         To agree to any reasonable request made by the Manager in the best interest of the resident and the home.
·         Support the Residents in carrying out their daily activities under the direction and supervision of qualified nursing staff.
·         Ensure that the Resident's privacy and dignity is always respected.
·         Organise and maintain daily all standard activities, actively helping to promote and create the environment referred to in the mission statement and plan and implement special activities as requested by or as deemed to be of interest to the Residents.
·         To set up and facilitate a Residents committee as per the wishes of the Residents or their representatives and maintain accurate minutes and agreed actions from each meeting.
·         The main aim is to improve intellectual, physical, and overall health of the residents.
·         To collaborate, where appropriate, to ensure and deliver that Activities and associated events/occasions are placed on social media to ensure that families of residents are always informed about the Activities residents are engaging in.
