As an Actuarial Analyst Graduate, you will work within the Ireland Optum Advisory (OA) team. Primary Responsibilities of the Actuarial Analyst: Extract, analyze, aggregate, and interpret comprehensive healthcare claims data Design, build, and maintain actuarial financial forecasting models Develop, review, and analyze detailed data sets leveraged for client reporting/analytics Apply your technical acumen to perform quantitative analysis of health care claims utilization and cost data Participate in client relationships and communications that enhance the consulting engagement Deliver visually compelling, accurate, and client-ready deliverables and forecasts You will be rewarded and recognised for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role, as well as providing development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications of the Actuarial Analyst: Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, or a similar discipline Experience working with formulas, calculations, charts, graphs in MS Excel Ability to quickly learn and use computer software tools effectively The ability to work a portion of monthly work hours from our Dublin or Letterkenny office is required. Preferred Qualifications of the Actuarial Analyst: Experience working in either R, SAS, SQL, PowerBI, VBA, predictive modeling Experience and/or exposure in dealing with health care claims experience (i.e., understanding of costs, expected claims, diagnosis codes, procedure codes, pharmacy terminology) Internship at a consultancy or in the actuarial or healthcare field Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, including written and verbal forms of communication Flexibility to handle changing priorities/requirements/deadlines Please note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the country to which you are making an application.
