We are currently totally refurbishing our Hotel and are looking forward to the launch of the new Grace Hotel early 2026.  This exciting journey will elevate the Westport Estate experience, making it a must-visit destination for visitors from around the world.   Job Summary   The ideal candidate will have a passion for outdoor activity along with an interest in delivering fun adventure activities to our guests.
This role will have responsibility for leading activity sessions, on their designated Adventure Park activities, to support a safe, consistent, and quality guest experience and help session Adventure staff to deliver to a quality standard.
This role will include work with the support of the Adventure management team (AMT) and Senior Instructors in the delivery of safe, fun activity sessions at all relevant land sites in Westport Estate.
This role will be trained and permitted to access, assist and Evacuate clients on rope and climbing based courses for which they have current and up to date CPD, training, assessment and approval by a technical expert.  Principle Responsibilities    Ensure over all delivery of above sessions in a safe environment in an atmosphere of respect and enjoyment.  To ensure that all instructors, on session operate activities only within the scope of their qualifications, training, and experience.  Adhere to all company policies especially in relation to activity SOPs and other safety parameters and ensure that all instructors do likewise.  Promote a safety culture and at all times put the safety and wellbeing of yourself, your customers, and your fellow staff members to the forefront of your priorities.  Help with maintenance, security and correct storage of the gear shed and all its equipment and support the SI in planning and equipment requirements as necessary and assist with daily and Weekly gear checks as needed.  Help with the Administration for your site, including records of your training / observations including, inductions, training and feedback on any updates required for SOPs and risk assessments in liaison with the AMT / SI   Assist with the induction, training and sign off of all new instructors in your activity area/s SOPs and keeping records of same.    Ensure Emergency Action Plan is understood for your Adventure site, is in place as well as understanding the communications system to achieve the best outcome in the event of injury or illness or evacuation of your site.   Complete daily inspections of all elements on your daily Adventure sites according to best practice industry guidelines outsourcing expertise where necessary.
Assist with periodic Functional check of elements under the direct guidance of the AMT in your relevant site.   Liaise with staff and management, discuss concerns, and work with your site team to ensure the most efficient service and pleasant workplace environment  Protect the environment and educate by example and promotion of environmentally friendly practices  Contribute positively to the public profile of the company in your presentation, (wear uniform), friendly approachable demeanor, and punctuality.    This job description is not intended to be either prescriptive or exhaustive, it is issued as a framework to outline main areas of responsibilities at the time of writing.    Required Experience & Skills     Minimum 2 NGB Instructor training qualifications Knowledge of the outdoor activities sector.  Experience instructing and supervising adventure activities and facilities.   Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.  Ability to follow and apply standards in line with sector specific Risk assessments, Safety Procedures and Operational guidelines.    Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office is an advantage.   Able to deliver centre activities.
Within remit of training, qualification, and experience.   Outdoor First Aid Qualification  Flexible approach to working hours, within company policy guidelines.   Pro-active approach.  Attention to detail and consistency.  Maintain and expect high standards of honesty, integrity, reliability, and punctuality.  What's in it for you?
