The positions are based in Lucan & Portane.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Care Worker to join our team, working with children who have complex emotional, behavioural, and physical needs.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering personalized care and support, helping children to thrive in a nurturing environment.
You will work closely with other professionals to create and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the holistic well-being of each child.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement care and placement plans tailored to the individual needs of each child.
Provide emotional, social, and physical support to children, fostering a safe and caring atmosphere.
Promote the development of life skills, independence, and positive behavioural changes.
Assist with daily activities, including personal care, recreational activities, and educational support.
Liaise with family members, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure the childs needs are met.
Participate in regular assessments and reviews to monitor progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
Respond to challenging behaviour using therapeutic techniques and crisis intervention strategies.
Keep detailed records of the childs development, behaviour, and any incidents, reporting progress to senior staff and external stakeholders.
Advocate for the childs rights, ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity at all times.
Ensure adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures, maintaining the highest standards of care.
Qualifications and Skills: Relevant qualification in Social Care, Social Work, or a related field.
Experience working with children, especially those with complex needs, disabilities, or emotional difficulties.
Strong understanding of child development and the impacts of trauma and adversity.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with children and their families.
Patience, empathy, and resilience when dealing with challenging situations.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for documentation and care planning.
Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when required.
Desirable: Experience in residential care settings or specialized support environments.
Training in therapeutic interventions or trauma-informed care.
